Ghost + Discourse = Blog Comments
Our blog runs via the latest self-hosted version of Ghost, but the comments are embedded from our self-hosted version of Discourse (this forum).
One important thing to note with this setup is that blog users must navigate our forum to post replies. This is intentional, as the posting interface on a Discourse forum is much richer than what we could embed via Javascript.
In Discourse, a topic is made up of many posts. When embedding Discourse on another site, you link a document (blog entry, HTML page, etc.) with a single topic. When people post on that topic, their comments will automatically appear on the page you embedded them in.
Ghost now has a simple native commenting system. However, we think it’s better to keep this comment setup as it encourages users to participate in the forum. Ultimately, we want to create a vibrant community.
